noisy alleydrainage issues
my room faced an alley. restaurant staff used it as a smoking area, even late at night! it was far from quiet. also, the bathroom seemed to have drainage issues? there was this lingering unpleasant odor. it really detracted from my stay

fantastic stay near st mark's square!
perfect locationclean roomdry food
the location was perfect. i found it very easy to get to via vaporetto. my room was clean and had a mini refrigerator. the air conditioning worked great. i was happy to have my own bathroom with a hairdryer.
the breakfast wasn't great. the hot food seemed a bit dry. it didn't seem very fresh. i noticed it seemed to only be filled once.

The hotel's location was excellent. It was easy to reach from the ferry (a definite plus). Staff members were very helpful, offering assistance when needed.
My room was not in the main building. It was in the back alley of another building (this was not ideal). This meant there was trash, noise, and many mosquitoes around.

small bathroomfrying oil smell
The room i got was not great. it was quite small, and the bathroom lacked space to even turn around. There were also no shelves. the view was onto the back of a restaurant, so i couldn't open the window because of the smell of frying oil. This smell was very strong. the room was quite expensive considering the low comfort level.

Acceptable Stay Near San Marco
service alleyloud noises
The room faced a service alley. Restaurant staff gathered there to pile garbage bags. They also smoked and talked loudly late into the night. This made it difficult to sleep. I would have preferred a quieter location away from the back of the restaurants.
